Painting...

This was my week to paint the bathroom that's being remodeled...that is, until shingles broke out on my face two days ago...which, by the way, is no fun...so I felt lucky that my general contractor could find someone to pinch hit for me at the last minute...

I felt even luckier when Tracy Barth, the owner of Cal-Tech Painting, showed up at my house...he arrived ready to get the job done...personable, efficient and orderly...he whipped out a coat of primer and two coats of color in the time it would have taken me to cut...

He also brought his own fan to dry the paint between coats...a Holmes HPF650-U...an 18-Inch oscillating fan with a stand...an unusual design...all-weather so it can operate outdoors, even in rain...it would make a great patio fan...and I was so excited to find one online...and affordable...until I saw "currently unavailable" on Amazon...and Overstock...and everywhere else...

Anyway, the fan did a speedy job of drying the paint...and now the bathroom is ready for its final touches...ceiling exhaust fan, towel warmer, shower grab bar, toilet and shower curtain rod...and, yes, I do know that most people put in glass shower enclosures...but my housekeeper and I both hate cleaning them...so its curtains for me (I know...I know...another bad pun)...

I'm looking forward to putting out fresh, new towels...rehanging the reframed photograph I wrote about earlier...placing a beautiful, white dendrobium orchid on the top of the toilet tank...

Now the biggest challenge will be overcoming the desire to remodel every other room in the house...I guess buying new camera gear isn't my only addiction syndrome...

Aged beige...I just love this non-color color...
