It is amazing the lengths to which some cat owners will go to control their cats' behaviors...I would know because I am now one of them...it started with Feliway...designed to eliminate kitty's stress by diffusing the scent of a synthetic version of feline facial pheromone...all this accomplished was getting her to lick her blanket where it had been sprayed...I watched in alarm as she licked and chewed and pulled up limitless numbers of fibers...she didn't cough up hair balls, she coughed up her blanket...and she hasn't used her bed since...
Next I tried the time-controlled feeder I wrote about earlier...anything to stop her screeching...she may occasionally forget the location of her cat box, and it must have taken our sweet kitty all of five minutes to figure out she could get it to dispense food at will...a gentle push here...a wide swipe there...she had two days of unlimited meals before we realized what was happening...and, yes, I'll spare you the details of that wonderful surprise...
I'm not sure what extreme solution I'll be trying next, just know I haven't given up...and I'm accepting suggestions...
"Maybe if I slit my eyes and look displeased, I'll get fed again"...
