Evoke...

Synthesizing an experience into a single word started as a game I began playing on a trip to Paris...it was a way to focus blog entries about my travels and give them meaning for my readers.

Since then, I've come to realize it as a form of meditation...a way to feel my way to the heart of an experience...to let judgment fall away...

The instant before that happens, the essence of the image, place, person, interaction often arises in me as a single word...a word both simultaneously devoid, and completely full, of meaning.
