Has it ever occurred to you to pack up all your electronics from home so you can recycle them at the mall by selling them to an instant cash machine?...me either...
I guess you can tell how long it's been since I visited a mall...I had no idea these ecoATM machines even existed...at first, I had difficulty figuring out why anyone would use one...as this article says:
'The average seller walks away with $25, but payouts can reach $300 for a new smartphone.'
I read the benefits on the website...no packing, no shipping, instant money...and I thought taking them to the mall means packing and driving before you even know how much money you're going to get..so only the instant money is any real benefit...it won't cause me to change how I recycle, and it may be worth it to other people...
Apparently, it is also worth it to some thieves too ignorant to realize the machine is taking photos of them...in addition to getting their identification...this includes a guy from Sacramento...
So beware of your belongings the next time you are shopping at the Downtown mall...even if the perp gets caught, there's still a lot of inconvenience involved in having your phone stolen...
Just what we need at a mall...the opportunity to get instant cash for whatever electronics you have on you...
