Have you ever used a "paintless" dent removal service to repair a vehicle?...I hadn't until yesterday...when I decided I wanted that new car look to last one more day...so the tiny dent it got while being valet parked at Sutter Hospital had to go...
I asked friends...but no one had any recommendations beyond regular body shops...and I was determined not to replace the factory paint on an entire door panel to repair a minor dent...so I turned to the ubiquitous source I use most often now...the Internet...a quick online search led me to three choices...after reading the reviews, I settled on Bullseye Paintless Dent Removal...
Bullseye is a mobile service...you use an online form or call to make an appointment...they come to where the car is located...and since I had a very busy schedule, it was three days before Jared Tanner was at my door...at the arranged time...ready to look at the actual damage...finalize his verbal estimate...and get to work...
This is when the epiphany came and I realized the serendipity of the situation...my very old car needed the service more than my new-to-me one...so Jared gave me an estimate for it too...then asked if I wanted to watch while he completed the repairs...
I never imagined the work would be so fascinating...nor would I have anticipated the many options for accessing an area that needs to be repaired...there are custom tools used to remove a dent...different tools return the surface to like-new condition...a yellow reflector shows how much of a dent is left and where...the rest depends on the patience and skill of the repair person...
It is an art form...and Jared is an artist...
Bulleye's tagline is "Targeting Perfection"...a goal that Jared made appear effortless...the dent in my new-to-me car is gone...as if it had never been there...the missing paint is the only mark remaining (and he warned me in advance it would still show)...and the exterior condition of my old car?...it looks like what Kelly Blue Book calls an excellent vehicle instead of merely a good one...
Thanks, Jared, for your professionalism and craftwork...and as much as I enjoyed meeting you, I sincerely hope it's our only time together...
