I was standing on the road on the summit above Donner Lake....desperately trying to catch exactly the right manual exposure settings on my camera...
It was dusk...when the effects of the sun quickly fade from the horizon...the time of day photographers refer to as Sweet Light...and painters refer to as the blue hour...
As I turned around to check the sun's affect on the lake, I saw this image in the evening sky...
I was reminded at once how insignificant we are...how little physical space we seem to occupy...while simultaneously, each of us, is also the center of the universe...
