I did a Google search on my name today...I wanted to determine if the new website had replaced my old one in the search results...the first entry that grabbed my attention was "107 people named Kathy Bridges in the US | White Pages"...my initial thought was "gee, maybe I could visit each one and write about it"...and then another entry caught my eye, the one immediately above it...the one where there was a series of five images...each one of a different Kathy Bridges...
The most interesting thing was this: two of the five photos were mugshots...of two different Kathys...so if I'm doing the math correctly, this means that of the 107 other Kathys in the US, there is the potential for as many as 42.8 of them to be criminals...
This led me to wonder: do you think that two of every five Kathys actually have a criminal record?...or that Google's Penguin algorithms rank mug shots higher than other images?...or maybe the more arrests you have, the higher you appear in the search results?...
I swear if I was smart enough to create an online survey, I'd be asking you to select an answer...seriously, I need to know...I may want to alter my behavior accordingly...this blogging thing could be more adventure-filled than I had previously imagined...
And two more things...no, my new site has not creeped above my old one in the rankings...and of course I did not take the photo of that woman...I would have been kind enough to let her comb her hair first...
