Fired...

Have you ever longed for a really good wood-fired pizza?...I hadn't had one in a long time when I came upon Hot Rock Pizza at the Harvest Fest in Coupeville...

The friendliest people I've met in awhile, the Schwartz and "used-to-be Schwartz" family runs this mobile business...they had made the trip from Oak Harbor to the delight of festival goers...and were making some great pizza...from scratch...in an ingeniously designed mobile unit that Reid Schwartz...in the yellow shirt...created and built from a flatbed trailer...

They are a family that is passionate about pizza...and it shows...each one is handmade from their slow rise dough...then baked in a wood-fired pizza oven...it was great fun to shoot images of the family at work making pizzas...they even made a special one...no red sauce...just for me...pesto, goat cheese, grilled onions and spicy sausage...it was crispy, cheesy, hot and delicious...

I wish I lived in an area they serve...Whidbey Island and Skagit and San Juan Counties, Washington...because I'd hire them in a hot minute to cater my next party...if I wasn't a Californian, I'd surely become a Hot Pizza regular...
